my approach

I think of therapy as a way of finding your way back to yourself. I see it as an active, shared process, where we don’t just talk about your life, but learn how to understand what’s happening within you as you’re living it.

You don’t need to change who you are to experience change.

Often, change begins when you start to understand yourself more clearly.

In our work together, we’ll slow things down and look at what’s happening beneath the surface: your thoughts, emotions, and what you’re noticing in your body. This brings clarity to your own process and greater understanding of your reactions.

As we make sense of these patterns, things start to feel less overwhelming and more workable. You begin to notice what’s happening in real time, which creates space to respond differently,  with more clarity, steadiness and self-trust.

Research shows that therapy is most effective when it helps you build awareness in the moment and develop a strong, supportive therapeutic relationship, both of which are central to how I work. ¹

We may also explore earlier experiences and relationships to understand how they’ve shaped the ways you show up today. Not to stay in the past, but to help things click in a way that gives you more choice in the present.

Our work is collaborative and we’ll always go at a pace that feels right for you. My role is to support you in building a clearer, more grounded relationship with yourself. One that allows you to move through life with more ease, resilience, and connection.

My work is person-centred, and I draw from mindfulness and somatic-based practices, as well as experiential approaches including:

All of these support building awareness, emotional flexibility, and resilience, and are tailored to what feels most helpful for you.

Naama Babos

MA, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

CRPO # 20455

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology.

My background in philosophy, psychology, and education informs a sensitive, curious and thoughtful approach.

Beyond my education and training, I am a certified human, which means I’m not perfect, and therapy isn’t about you becoming perfect either. It’s about learning to understand, appreciate, and relate to your inner experiences in a way that leaves you feeling more free, grounded and empowered.

I am a mother to three wondrous children and one quirky cat. I have a great deal of respect for the natural world, and if I could have one superpower, it would be teleportation. Some of my favourite things include cheese, art (all forms) and the kind of laugh that makes you cry (or vice versa). I love trees, people and impromptu dance parties.
